OCBA Celebrates 5 Years

May 20, 2014

OCBA 5th Anniv 2

Join the Orange County Industrial Development Agency in celebrating the Business Accelerator’s 5th year!

Established in 2009, the Accelerator was brought to life by a team of passionate individuals on the IDA Board and in Orange County Government. The vision of then-Chairman James R. Petro, Jr and then-IDA Attorney Philip Crotty was supported by former County Executive Ed Diana, and former Deputy County Executive – and then-IDA Executive Director – James O’Donnell. A plan to create the Accelerator was developed in January of 2009, and the doors opened that same October.

Driven by IDA funding, the Accelerator has seen five years of success, as well as strong leadership. Currently managed by Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation, the past Management and Development Directors include Michael DiTullo, Peter Gregory and Peter Malone. With the help of these management teams, several businesses have seen their plans become reality.

In 2009, the IDA Board enthusiastically supported the vision of the Accelerator: to create durable jobs in Orange County, developing a community with growing opportunities for the future. Five years later, the IDA is proud to see that the Accelerator continues to forge ahead in its mission to encourage business creation and growth in Orange County.

So help us celebrate five years of innovation, connections, growth, and success.

Details of the event can be found here and here.
